RENOVATION OF BUILDING AND LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY AT LMU MUNICH

As part of new appointments at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), the building and laboratory technology in two existing properties is being renewed. The measure also includes the restructuring of the associated office and lounge areas for professors, doctoral students, students, and other staff. The renovations affect a 5-story building (technical center on the top floor) from 1966 as well as parts of an adjacent listed building from 1909. Due to various experimental setups and the required vibration requirements, a section of the basement floor is being demolished and rebuilt more solidly at a lower level. The work is taking place in an inner-city location with ongoing teaching and laboratory operations nearby and must be coordinated with heritage conservation authorities.
